Dr. Jordan Winegar earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University, where he studied Chemical Engineering and Spanish, before receiving his medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 2018.  His interest in eye care began well before medical school. For nearly three years, he worked alongside an optometrist whom he considers one of the most talented clinicians and mentors in his career. During that time, he served as both an optician and optical laboratory technician, manufacturing eyeglasses and gaining firsthand experience in optics, vision correction, and the attention to detail required to help patients achieve their best possible vision.

Dr. Winegar completed his ophthalmology residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he received comprehensive surgical training with a particular emphasis on refractive surgery. Following residency, he was stationed at Fort Carson, where he became Chief of the Refractive Surgery Program and later served as the Army Deputy Consultant for Refractive Surgery, helping oversee refractive surgery programs across the military.

Refractive surgery remains one of Dr. Winegar’s primary areas of expertise. His experience includes LASIK, PRK, SMILE, Implantable Collamer Lenses (ICL), corneal cross-linking (CXL), combined CXL/PRK procedures, and CTAK for selected patients with keratoconus, corneal ectasia, and irregular corneas. He is also passionate about helping cataract surgery patients achieve their lifestyle and vision goals through advanced refractive cataract surgery techniques and individualized treatment planning. In addition to refractive surgery, Dr. Winegar provides comprehensive ophthalmology care, treating a wide range of medical and surgical eye conditions while helping patients preserve and improve their vision throughout all stages of life.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Winegar enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters. Together, they enjoy rock climbing, hiking, canyoneering, skiing, and other outdoor adventures. A lifelong learner with an appreciation for languages, he enjoys practicing Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese with his family. He is also an avid reader, a fan of Brandon Sanderson novels, board games, and any opportunity to explore new challenges both indoors and outdoors.
